Heinrich August Johann Moser foi um notável artista alemão que viveu em Pernambuco, Brasil, na primeira metade do século XX. Ficou conhecido por seus trabalhos em vitrais, mas dominava também a pintura, a escultura, assim como a arquitetura. Porém, o que é pouco conhecido é sua atuação como artista gráfico. Teve uma produção bastante significativa criando imagens ilustradas para periódicos, livros, catálogos entre outros. Nascido em Munique em 1886 e capacitado em duas escolas de artes, chega ao Recife em 1910. Nessa época Pernambuco encontrava-se em crescimento na área editorial. Artista de múltiplas facetas passou seu conhecimento a artistas locais como Lula Cardoso Ayres, Aurora Lima e Nenah Boxwell. Moser, junto com outros artistas pernambucanos, fundou a Escola de Belas Artes do Recife (EBA), posteriormente é unificada à Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Como reconhecimento do seu trabalho, recebeu medalha de ouro na Exposição do Centenário do Brasil em 1929, no Rio de Janeiro. Faleceu no Recife em 1947 deixando uma contribuição relevante para a cultura e o desenvolvimento da indústria gráfica pernambucana.

Heinrich August Johann Moser was a remarkable German artist who lived in Pernambuco, Brazil, in the first half of the twentieth century. He is known for his works in stained glass, but he was also great at painting, sculpture, and architecture. However, what is little known is his performance as a graphic artist. He had a very significant production creating illustrated images for periodicals, books, catalogs among others. Born in Munich in 1886 and qualified in two schools of art, he arrived in Recife in 1910. At that time Pernambuco was growing in the publishing area. As a multi-faceted artist, he passed his knowledge onto local artists such as Lula Cardoso Ayres, Aurora Lima and Nenah Boxwell. Moser, together with other artists from Pernambuco, founded the School of Fine Arts of Recife (EBA), which is later on incorporated to the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). In recognition for his work, he received a gold medal at the Exposition of the Centennial of Brazil in 1929, in Rio de Janeiro. He died in Recife in 1947 leaving a relevant legacy to the culture and development of the graphic industry in Pernambuco.
